2009 Bloomer Creek Riesling Auten Vineyard

Technically we drank this last night, but it was so good it seems worth going back in time. We are big proponents of drinking so-called regional wines, and could not have been more impressed with our recent trip to the Finger Lakes. Of the 14 or so wineries we went to, Bloomer Creek was probably the best, and we have been saving what we bought for special occasions—like New Year’s Eve.

Anyway, this is killer riesling. Just smells and tastes great. Dry and minerally but with lots of apple and lemon and whatnot. I’d drink it every day if I could. Bloomer Creek has gotten a lot of good publicity lately, so I would not be surprised to see their prices head north, but we paid about $15 for this in Spring 2010. Wish we had bought more.
