2010 Guimaro Mencia

We ordered a bottle of this at our favorite local restaurant last night.

It’s made from the Mencia grape from a little known area of Spain that produces relatively light bodied, mineral-y wines. (At least according to this NY Times article I just read.) It was absolutely delicious. Tasted blind, I’m pretty sure I would have said it was gamay.

Very light and food friendly and at $37, fairly priced for a restaurant wine list.
