2009 Domaine La Blaque

I like this wine a lot. A syrah-based blend from a less famous area of France called Pierrevert, it totally delivers for $15.

Hard to describe without getting into some serious wine nerd talk, but there’s a distinctive mouthfeel that I always think of as “chalky” to a wine like this. In this case, it’s a good thing. Lots of fruit, but also some pleasant herbal flavors and some savory notes. There is a lot going on in the glass.

Solid wine. Solid buy.
