2007 Domaines Schlumberer Grand Cru Riesling

As previously stated, riesling is my favorite white grape, and here is yet another example of why. While the world is awash in very good sub $15 off-dry riesling, this is a rarer style, at least for us.

Dry, viscous and minerally, this takes a little bit of swirling in the glass to come around, but it’s really tasty, and a nice change of pace. I’d say it’s “austere,” but what kind of jerk describes a wine like that that?

Really nice. Glad to have another bottle around.
