2010 Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Bordeaux Reserve Speciale

bordeaux

Are you looking for cheap Bordeaux? Look elsewhere.

~ $10 Bordeaux is usually a shaky proposition … and this lives up to that reputation.

This tastes like the mass-produced wine it is, although there’s a bit of varietal correctness and Old World earthiness. Clearly some oak to go along with the leather and berries. Tasted blind, I think most people would peg it as inexpensive French.

Bottom line: A merely okay bottle of wine that doesn’t stand out in the $10 to $15 range.
